Knight and Day

As I mentioned before, the preview for this movie was basically a copy of "Killers". Substitute this movie's Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz for Killer's Ashton Kutcher & Katherine Heigl, and you really wouldn't be able to tell one trailer from the other.

However, Knight and Day had 54% on Rotten Tomatoes, vs. Killers' 11%, so I figured that Killers was the knock-off and this was the "real" movie. Neither had great ratings, but it seemed like Knight and Day would at least be a lot better.

The action scenes were noticeably better, and some pretty good fight choreography. But whenever someone opened their mouth to talk, it's like they were drugged. Spaced out, lethargic, detached. Really weird. I'm not a fan of Cruise or Diaz, but neither really surprised me here... I didn't really like them again. Then again, I didn't really like anyone in this movie.

The whole thing was pretty confusing. It's like they threw in every stereotype/trope without transition, add in stoned-out dialog, and Tom Cruise's eyebrows. Disappointing.

In the end, I have to admit I liked Killers better. That was still a pretty awful movie, confusing, strange. But at least it had a (very campy) heart to it. This one just seemed... lacking.
